October 30, 2020 — We’re taught to communicate with words. We write essays, prepare speeches, and take written notes. But words aren’t always the best option for conveying information and ideas. Sometimes the best way to tell stories is through thoughtfully crafted visuals, not long paragraphs of text.
September 21, 2020 — Donna Lichaw introduces story as a tool for building customer journeys — and a powerful tool for communication. People are natural storytellers. In realizing this, we can see that an experience is a story, and people are the heroes of their own story.

June 8, 2020 — We want UX metrics. But metrics are devoid of emotion and improving a frustrating design is intrinsically emotional. We have to find a way to surface the emotion when we’re using metrics, which is an inherently difficult process.
August 29, 2015 — A few years ago, I started getting into video games like Katamari, Animal Crossing, and Borderlands 2. Their designs are astounding; each feels like I’m having a natural conversation with the game, and each introduces content in the moment I needed it. As a result, the game experience feels so dang smart, and I feel like a hero whenever I play.
